Spice Society was born from the ancient Somali beauty rituals, where Qasil has been used for generations to cleanse, soothe and restore the skin. We honour this tradition by crafting every product in small batches using only responsibly sourced ingredients. Qasil is made special by its natural science. Its saponins work as gentle surfactants, emulsifying excess oil and dirt without disrupting the skin's acid mantle. So you get a clean, balanced complexion -they way nature intended.

Qasil is made from the grinded down leaves of the Gob tree, a plant naturally rich in minerals, antioxidants and bioactive compounds. These leaves contain potent anti-inflammatory agents that help inhibit inflammatory mediators like COX-2, which is why qasil calms redness and promotes clearer skin. We use only premium Gob leaves, finely milled to preserve potency, then formulated them with other natural ingredients to create modernised formulas that maximise their purifying skin-soothing benefits.

Traditional Qasil works beautifully, but is not always convenient - so we reimagined it!. Our formulas blend pure Qasil with high performance natural ingredients to elevate it's natural benefits. Each batch is handmade to ensure potency by combining Qasil with our modern formulations to offer a cleaner and more radiant result - without loosing the integrity of the original ritual.
